Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)

Description: Grant for financially-needy students who have met certain academic requirements.
Eligibility: U.S. Citizen/Permanent residents; need-based; available to Pell Grant recipients only. Student must have successfully completed a rigorous high school program as established by state, recognized by the U.S. Department of Education on or after 1/1/2006 for 1st year students and 1/1/2005 for 2nd year students. Available only to 1st and 2nd year students.
Amount: Up to $750 for freshman not previously enrolled in college; $1,300 for sophomores who have maintained a GPA of 3.0 or higher during freshman year.
How to apply: Complete the FAFSA by your school's specified deadline. Ask your school's financial aid office about this grant.
